Head butt heard 'round the world

Perhaps Zinedine Zidane's mother didn't teach him "while sticks and stones may break your bones, names will never hurt you."

Turns out a wisecrack about his sister sent Zidane head first into Italy's Marco Materazzi's chest.

Materazzi cleared the air Tuesday and told the Gazzetta dello Sport that a trash-talking exchange took place after the Italian soccer player grabbed onto Zidane's jersey.

Zidane said: "If you want, I'll give you the jersey later."

Materazzi fired back that he'd prefer Zidane's sister.

And the rest goes down in head butt history.

It was a tough way for Zidane to end his career, but you can't fault a guy for sticking up for his sis...I just wonder if French fans feel the same way.
